The centre of the Cynefin framework: not knowing which domain you are in, and so defaulting to the methods you know best.
It is the most unstable place: an organisation without any strategy or sense of its context simply does what is currently fashionable in management. Cynefin distinguishes the inauthentic confused state from aporia, a deliberate, productive state of puzzlement in which old certainties are questioned before moving to a domain.
