What we build

Exaptation is a consultancy that also builds software. These are the tools we make ourselves, from the CMS behind this website to a map editor for Wardley and Estuarine maps. Each one says plainly how far along it is.

  • Beta

    ogof

A map editor for value chains, landscapes and systems, where any box can hold a map of its own. It runs in the browser and on the Mac, comes with Wardley and Estuarine map templates, and saves maps as open JSON Canvas files, the format Obsidian uses.

  • In internal testing

    Plato

The headless CMS behind this website. Content comes over a REST API and a built-in MCP server, so AI agents can work with it too. Every change is kept as a version with its author, and any earlier state can be restored.

  • Early alpha

    MycorrA

People bring their own AI to every app. Where an app shows “Log in with mycorra”, its AI features run on the user's prepaid balance, with a spending limit for each app. Developers offer AI without a flat AI subscription to price and without margin risk. Open for the waitlist.

  • Beta

    exWriter

A quiet markdown editor for the browser and the Mac. Its proofreader runs on the device, with no AI involved; the optional AI writing help runs on the writer's own MycorrA account. Writing needs no account at all. Now in public beta.

  • In development

    SafeSteno

A voice recorder for iPhone and Apple Watch that delivers recordings to storage you choose: S3-compatible, Synology, Nextcloud, a folder in Files or Dropbox. No SafeSteno account, no analytics or tracking, and it records without a connection.

If what your organisation needs turns out to be software, we build that too. Let's talk about it.
